Her reign was the longest in our history, and she ruled over the most powerful Empire the world has ever seen. Danbury Mint has acquired a limited number of Victorian half-sovereign portrait type-sets, featuring three major portraits of the Queen:

•    The “Young Head” is a crownless portrait of the young Victoria. It was minted from 1838.
•    In 1887 the portrait changed to a crowned Queen, in celebration of Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. This portrait is often referred to as the “Jubilee Head”.
•    In 1893 the coin portrait changed again, to depict an older, veiled Victoria in mourning for her husband, Prince Albert. This late portrait is often referred to as the “Old Head” or the “Veiled Head”.

You will receive one example of each of these beautiful gold coins. Dates will vary depending upon our available stock. Befitting of such historically significant 22ct gold coins, your three circulated gold half-sovereigns will arrive every other month presented in crystal-clear cases.

You will also receive a handsome display chest that features gleaming silver-tone fixtures and lock and key – yours at no additional charge with your second coin!

Display chest is 5″ tall (opened) x 3¾” deep by 5” wide.
