Steiff Bombax Elephant

Steiff pay tribute to their origins by bringing this symbol of their company right up to date for the modern age. 

Steiff Bombax Elephant is crafted from the finest bamboo-viscose plush. He is fully jointed, but his head and limbs are loosely attached to his body which gives him a true vintage feel and a delightful little wobble. Bombax has a raised trunk as a symbol of good luck. His paw pads and ears are made from Violan® - a revolutionary herbal material from Germany which is sustainably procured from fast-growing renewable sources that has the look and feel of traditional wool felt. Even his stuffing is environmentally friendly, it’s made from PES fibres created from recycled plastic bottles.

Bombax has a distinctive brass chest tag which celebrates his standing as a Steiff “Teddy for Tomorrow” and harks back to the early days of the company with its iconic elephant design. In his ear you’ll also find their golden button along with a white tag with blue writing to guarantee that Bombax is an original Steiff creation.
