To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal British Legion, Merrythought – Britain’s oldest surviving teddy bear manufacturer – has created a very special limited-edition bear exclusively for sale through Danbury Mint.
He has been lovingly crafted from vintage-style mohair specially “aged” to give him all the charm and character of a vintage teddy bear. Attached to his jacket are miniatures of the World War I medals ‘Pip’ (the 1914-15 Star), ‘Squeak’ (the British War Medal) and ‘Wilfred’ (the Victory medal). Pinned to his lapel is an enamelled red Poppy and his regimental beret cap badge features the British Legion’s trademarked Poppy and a banner celebrating 100 years.
Not only is he available exclusively from Danbury Mint, but only 5,000 pieces can ever be made.
Bear is 14” tall.
A minimum donation of £25 per bear will be paid to Royal British Legion Trading Limited (Company no. 4783730 registered in England and Wales) which gives its taxable profits to The Royal British Legion (Charity no. 219279).
