There can be no doubt that for the past thousand years, our country has enjoyed a long and rich history of monarchs. From the last of the Anglo-Saxon kings, the Norman conquest in 1066 and the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215… to the tumultuous reigns of the House of Tudor and House of Stuart, the rise of the House of Hanover to the more recent House of Windsor sovereigns, each have played their part in making our nation what it is today.
Each commemorative in the A Thousand Years of Monarchy collection features a depiction of a different King or Queen in English and British history who shaped our country, from William the Conqueror defeating Harold II at the Battle of Hastings, Henry VIII establishing the Church of England, Charles I losing the English Civil War... to Queen Victoria reigning over the Empire upon which the sun never set. Each design has been exclusively created by Danbury Mint artists to bring our nation’s monarchs to life.
Struck from one full ounce of precious .999 fine silver, each commemorative is finished to a proof-like standard, so every detail is perfectly captured. The obverses also feature a specially-designed shield, unique to this collection.
Each exceptional issue is securely encapsulated – making it safe to examine without fear of damage – and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, verifying its details, and providing fascinating information on the featured monarch.
What’s more, your entire collection is housed in a deluxe wooden Display Chest, yours at no extra charge. It features a silver-toned lock and key for added security and a sparkling glass top that allows you to admire your commemoratives in all their glory.
