Colloquially described for some unknown reason as a ‘bob’, the shilling was a major part of our culture. It was convenient in size and value, and became one of the popular workhorses of the silver circulation until it was replaced by the five pence coin during decimalisation.

You are invited to become one of the selected few collectors who can ever own all of the last 58 English and Scottish shillings with this complete date set of all shillings issued from 1937 until decimalisation. This landmark collection spans the years which saw the shaping of the nation, with events from the accession of George VI, the defeat of Nazi Germany, birth of the NHS, the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, right through to the Swinging Sixties. II.

This collection includes many important “firsts” and “lasts”, including the last 10 years of 50% silver shillings, the first and last shilling issues for both George VI and Elizabeth II, and all the World War II issues. What’s more, you’ll also receive the scarce 1959 Scottish-type whose circulation was only 5% of the total for the English-type of the same year.

You will receive two handsome book-style display cases at about the same time as your third shipment featuring a luxurious leather-like binding. They are the ultimate presentation, and are yours at no additional charge.
