This year, the Royal Mint has issued an impressive Double Sovereign to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. Made from half an ounce of solid 22ct gold, the obverse features Jody Clark’s current depiction of the Queen, the last effigy of Elizabeth II to appear on a sovereign. The reverse shows a special one-off design for the Jubilee featuring the Royal Coat of Arms by numismatic artist Timothy Noad.
The gold coin is encapsulated for protection and mounted on a richly finished wooden panel, which can lie flat or be set at an angle within the handsome display chest provided at no extra charge. Limited quantities are available.
Double sovereign is 28.4mm in diameter.
Display is 7¾” x 1½” x 1¾”.
