Slipped in a bride’s shoe, hidden in a Christmas pudding or even bent and given to a sweetheart on her engagement, the sixpence – or “tanner” – has a permanent place in our affections. Now, you can acquire a date set of thirty-two sixpences from 1936 to 1967 – the last years in which these iconic little coins were minted! What’s more, the sixpences issued between 1936 and 1946 all contain 50% genuine silver. Even the scarce 1952 coin, the last to feature George VI’s profile, is included!
