On 2 June 1953, at Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth II was crowned Queen. Her Majesty vowed to always be devoted to the service of the people. This magnificent event lit up the nation and heralded the start of the new Elizabethan age.
As a tribute to this momentous occasion and her incredible 70-year reign, this collection brings together a complete set of genuine 1953 coins. Each coin is encapsulated in deluxe crystal-clear panels that feature stunning imagery and photographs of the historic day from that special day in June 1953. When displayed together, the panels create a magnificent collage which includes a beautiful photograph of Her Majesty in the coronation robes.
On the back of each panel there are the interesting facts about the coronation day.
Each coin in this collection is preserved in gently circulated condition and features the first portrait of Queen Elizabeth on its obverse. The collection includes the farthing, halfpenny, penny, threepence, sixpence, English shilling, Scottish shilling, florin, half crown and crown.
A bespoke wooden display chest provides the perfect presentation and will arrive in your third shipment. Complete with a lock and key, the glass-top lid allows you to easily view the coins and panels.
Display measures 7" wide x 11½" deep x 2½" high (closed).
